Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded was disappointingly short. I beat it in about a week and 20 hours logged. Now I'm just screwing around and getting enough trophies to unlock the secret movie. The controls are still wonky.

Whole weekend off! But, unfortunately, I have to work both Saturday and Sunday next week. I haven't worked a Saturday in about six months. I hate working Saturdays.

OH GOD IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING MAGICAL WARMNESS TIME.
Actually, it's been unseasonably warm since the beginning of February. I don't think it's gone below 55F during the day since them. THAT MEANS THE GROUNDHOG IS A WITCH. Or something.

Also, Kingdom Hearts: ReCoded is surprisingly addictive despite the crap controls. I wish the camera didn't have to be moved separate from actual movement. It's kind of a pain.

Should probably get around to reading it, too.

Also, finished KH: BBS, at least story-wise. Even though I knew what would happen, it still depressed me a little.

Best game ever (at this time): Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale.
Ok, I've only played a bit of the demo. But CAPITALISM. Which means if you don't like it, you're a dirty dirty socialist.

Also, I got Birth By Sleep on Wednesday. So I'm not playing it. At least until I finish Persona. Which I have been trying to play for the last seven months. At least I have Megido and Mediarama finally.

The one thing I like about Nathan getting on the bus at 6:45 is that on mornings I work at 10, I can just go back to bed. The bad things are that I have to get up even earlier, and it's pretty damn dark when we go up.

It would appear that, after a few other stores were hit, that corporate wants at least two people in the store overnight every night. I thought it would only be a one week thing, but it's going through next week too.
And with me having to watch Nathan in the mornings, I can only work Friday and Saturday nights, unless he goes elsewhere. Which means I've been off since Sunday morning, and I'll only work Friday and Saturday nights next week.
Which I wouldn't totally mind if it weren't for two things: 1) This week specifically, I'm getting two days paid vacation, but not next week. So there's all that money. And 2) I still have to get up at 6am on weekdays anyway, so there's no chance for me to sleep in at all (except on Tuesdays, but that's more going back to bed).

I finished KH: 358/2 Days last week.
Spoilers go here )

The tree is mostly naked now. All that's left is the lights and the star. I didn't bother with those yesterday. Also, I suck at repacking ornaments. I had a bunch left over, so I had to find another small box to put those in. At least they're only traveling up and down the stairs instead of halfway across the country.

Let's start with Christmas. I got a key chain from Nathan, one of this year's Hess trucks (the monster truck), a Sports Illustrated swimsuit calendar, some candy, gift cards to Barnes and Noble and Starbucks, and a new stand for my TV. After Christmas I got a matching bookcase, so now my room has some more actual furniture.

I finished Re:CoM a while back, in about 2 weeks or so, and that was after taking four days off after my last real entry. 100% completion in both. It was both easier and harder than the original. Plus, the new cards gotten from finishing Sora's story would have been nice to have earlier than that, or at least in linked fights (which was taken out in and replaced with theater mode).

Then, I started Eternal Poison, finally. It's as gorgeous as the videos I'd seen beforehand. Also, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FUCK I'M DOING. Seriously. There's no guide at all (not even a printed one), so I've been winging it a lot. I started with Thage's story. After getting over her Negate ability (unaffected by any magic, positive or negative), and trying to figure out how abilities work, I finally started working on the Second Strata today. And the story doesn't get any less confusing.
Favorite mercenaries (based on use): Yuri (yay light elemental magic and an extra healer) and Alexei (a very slow, but very well defended, tank)
Favorite mercenaries (based on looks): Ares (just finally recruited her, no idea how she functions), Vivian (though I have used her, and her non-elemental spells are nice)
Favorite characters: Thage, Duphaston

I managed to miss out on going back to school because the school I wanted to go to didn't receive my transcripts in time, so I have to wait until the fall semester. Thankfully, I'm already in the system, so I don't have to re-apply. On top of that, I'm going to go ahead and learn how to drive in the meantime (and get my license, finally).

Also, I'm typing all this on a new laptop. The original hard drive failed in my original one, and so I had it replaced with one I had bought for my sister's laptop, though it didn't actually need it (she needed a new motherboard, as her's wouldn't even start). So I went ahead and bought a Dell, similar to the one my sister has, but a different model number. The keyboard is a little touchy, the buttons at the top don't light until you touch them (making it hard to find the volume controls in the dark), and for the first couple days, the wireless card didn't want to cooperate with the router.
And then, on Monday, I managed to stupidly fall for a virus over MSN, so, after finally getting rid of it (and crashing my login), I had to start over as though I had just gotten it. Thankfully, the wireless card took less time to get used to the router again.

I think I say this every time, but I need new icons.

It's the night before Christmas, and that means...

24 hour Christmas Story marathon!

I spent Monday in bed with the same stomach flu Nathan had over the weekend, only getting up twice, as those two times I managed to find myself over the toilet with my stomach flipped inside out. And even when I recovered early Tuesday morning, I still had a minor fever, so I skipped work that day too. And then I went in today and, for the first time, got my share of the food that I'd normally miss working nights.

Even earlier than that, I finished GrimGrimoire last week, playing it in less than a week and logging in only 15 hours or so.

Spoilers for the uninitiated )

And so far, I've only done the first floor of KH: Re:CoM, up through Axel I. And since the map is round (and 3D) instead of rectangular, Axel's Flame Wall teleports him to the middle and radiates fire across the entire arena. On top of that, he can play a combo with a single card.

Pros:
Dodge Roll is much easier to use
Much easier to dodge attacks, stock cards for sleights

Cons:
With Dodge Roll on Square and the camera on the right joystick, it's hard to control both
Depth is a little off, sometimes I ended up running into a Heartless trying to stun them
Breakable objects don't respawn, even after reloading, making farming for cards/MP harder

I haven't played since Friday, though. Saturday, I got my copy of Dr. Horrible, finally, Sunday I napped and had to help digging through Christmas decorations, and you know what happened after that.

Speaking of Dr. Horrible, all I've done with it is watch it with the Wiccan (yes, Wiccan) subtitles. I haven't played with the hidden Easter eggs yet, but I've figured out how to get to them (by waiting for other people to do it for me xD).

Damn you Atlus and your continued love for the PS2! *shakes fist*

With any luck, I'll have that and Persona 3 by the end of the week, because Amazon sucks at tracking. Re:CoM maybe this week, but I don't know yet. Saturday, hopefully.
