I can't believe I finally managed that. Especially since I've been bad all day, either with food poisoning or some sort of stomach virus.

I'm sick again, for the second time in a month. Although this is more an actual virus this time, though it still sucks.

Working my way through Tegami Bachi and Yozakura Quartet. And I picked up Darker than BLACK on a whim, though I have heard good things about it.

To my past self who wanted to get sick to get out of work: Fuck you, being sick sucks.
This feels kind of like deja vu.

The water heater broke on Saturday. It affected the shower. I ended up washing my hair and the important bits in cold water for a few days. And I know it's been only 5 days, but that shower tonight felt so good.

I've also been somewhat sick with a head cold since Saturday (unrelated). Enough on Sunday that I actually called in sick. So I finally got a Sunday off, and I spent it asleep and/or miserable.

Yesterday, I had to pull weeds and paint the curb and handicapped ramp at work. Today I am sore in the legs. The arms, not so much anymore. My hands, still sore where I scrapped the knuckles on the concrete. And I finally got all the paint off my hands.

I've been re-addicted to Persona 3. Which, now I wonder if I'll even want to play it when it comes out next month.

I think I might be getting sick.
On one hand, this sucks. On the other hand, I might be able to skip work tomorrow.

Also, I haven't played SMT: Imagine in a couple days. I did spend last night watching a lot of crap I've been building up over the last 2-3 weeks. And waiting for Durarara!! 21.

And also, my sister came back from Europe on Thursday. The car trip to and from Charlotte shall not be spoken of. And she got me stuff. An Eiffel Tower key chain, a gargoyle figurine, a nice sketchbook, a small notebook, and a 1000 piece puzzle of the Mona Lisa. Given how small it actually is, it's probably full scale.

Until you have to drive in it.

It snowed yesterday. A lot. A lot more than predicted. And a couple times it stopped so it could rain/sleet. So it was a lot of fun.

Except that I had to work yesterday, 8am-5pm. By 5pm almost everywhere else had closed, except us, and we didn't close until 6pm. So Dad and I stayed our entire shift.

The fun started almost immediately. We parked facing uphill, so we slipped and slid trying to go up, to no avail. And then did the same going backward until we finally turned around and made our way up road out of the parking lot.

Which almost went without a hitch. Until we got to the road, and almost got stuck in the shoulder. So I had to get out and push, until we got back onto the road.

And all was fine, even the slow crawl up the entrance ramp to the interstate. And then the exit to the next interstate went fairly well. With a few slow sliding crawls up hills, we made it to I-26.

Only to find it completely stopped in both directions, with cars lined up the entrance ramp. After going to the next exit and turning around, we decided to head back to Kmart. With an SUV riding our ass all the way to the exit we used.

We parked across the street in the Best Buy parking lot, mostly because we ended up stuck anyway.

And then we spent the night at Kmart. All I ate was some Tostitos Scoops (tm) and store brand chocolate chip cookies. After a dose of generic Nyquil (somehow tasting even worse than the actual thing), I slept somewhat alright on a twin size mattress on the floor. Under the lights that kept turning on and off all night.

In the morning we went back across the now plowed street to the not plowed parking lot, and spent almost half an hour trying to get back out. My pushing did next to nothing, though we managed to get back into the tracks we made last night.

And we almost made it out of the parking lot, if it hadn't been for the snow pushed off the road by the plows. Luckily, there was someone at the Best Buy, and she helped push. It wasn't helping at first, but she was about to get a shovel when Dad pulled out finally.

The rest of the slow trip home went fine, as we went up through town and past where we would have normally gone home, instead getting on I-26 from farther down and coming back around. Along the way we saw little snowmen on the guard rail, and then a couple larger ones off to the side of the road.

We actually made it home, or at least to the road leading off the highway. But since it's only a side road, it hadn't been plowed yet, so we got stuck again. And even after walking home and getting a shovel (passing two cars side-by-side on the road I live on stuck in the snow) we couldn't move the car even off the side of the road. Even after changing the back passenger tire, which turned out to be going flat, for another tire that was going flat, didn't help. Thankfully, a couple was out walking around, and they helped me push the car off the side of the road.

And so, I think my shoes are still wet inside. And also, lots of snow sucks if your not a kid.

Also, yes, I've been sick all week, I think I'm finally getting over it, if I could just get my nose to stop running down the back of my throat and aggravating it.

Woo! My semester is over! I can't say I'm entirely happy with the written part of the final, but I have a good enough score for everything else that I won't do too badly.
I have learned, though, that I am better at doing things than I am at going back and explaining what I just did.

I guess it is a real cold, though with liberal amounts of medication, I haven't suffered too much, even working the last three days. Tomorrow, at least, I get to lay around and recuperate a bit.

Could this be another false alarm cold? Who knows, but I'm drugging myself in anticipation.
Hopefully I'll survive through Tuesday night, and the last of my final. Then I can succumb to sickness later.

I've added more games to my collection:

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (finally)
Summon Night: Twin Age (also finally)
A Witch's Tale

So... all DS games. At least I'm playing Scribblenauts again. I think FLAMEBERGE is my favorite word right now.

7145 / 50000 words. 14% done!

We're getting somewhere. Slowly.
Also, this current (and still ongoing chapter) is 5891 words so far. Though the bulk of it is in a pair of extremely vivid daydreams, which actually might be their own chapters.

That whole maybe-it-is-maybe-it-isn't fever from a few days ago may have been a harbinger. My throat's been scratchy all day, and my appetite has been kind of off. And this is supposed to be my weekend.
Which is only two days. I went ahead and switched having Thursday off for today.

Also, my ear burns. Doesn't that mean someone is talking about me?
