Actually, I've had this computer since Thursday. It's actually pretty damn nice. The width has taken some getting used to, especially with the inclusion of the number pad and the keys I tend to use a lot (Home, End, Page Up/Down, etc) are along the top instead of down the right side, and the arrow keys aren't all the way to the right, either.
But I can see so much more now, considering the resolution is so much higher (1600x900 versus 1280x700). The downside is that it's now even wider than tall, so it's harder to find wallpapers. The one I transferred over isn't pixelated, just stretched a bit more.
But overall, I'm satisfied with it. It runs so much smoother than the last one. I'm even liking some of the features I'm finding in Windows 7.

I aced the Humanities class. It wasn't really that hard, given a lot of it was subjective anyway. The real pain was the weekly essays and then the three tests + research paper + final on top of those. I got an A- in the drafting class, so not bad there. I think a lot of my problem is still lettering, in that I'm still not terribly consistent. Other than that, I think I managed to shake some of the rust off my drafting skills.

Finals are complete (final drawings in drafting class not graded yet, though), semester over, and my laptop is mostly kaput, finally. The monitor is dead, and it has also effected the bits near it (the wire to the sleep button was already severed a while ago, and now it's starting to affect the power button and the touch buttons on the top of the keyboard). Everything else works, so right now I'm hooked up to a desktop monitor, and I've transferred anything of importance and lists of things to an external HD until my new computer arrives. So I'm mostly stuck without a computer until probably next week, not to say I can't borrow another one or continue using this monitor when no one else is.

I finally got new shoes on Tuesday, after letting the cheap-ass ones I got four months ago fall apart and kill my feet. These ones have heel support!

I think my computer hates me. Or maybe just the antivirus. Which pops up with a low level threat that I go ahead and delete and then restart. Except the "low level threat" was a key file that ran everything. So after several unsuccessful restores, I had to reinstall Windows from scratch. At least I didn't lose anything. -_-

Still haven't watched Watchmen. Will tomorrow. Hopefully.

Let's start with Christmas. I got a key chain from Nathan, one of this year's Hess trucks (the monster truck), a Sports Illustrated swimsuit calendar, some candy, gift cards to Barnes and Noble and Starbucks, and a new stand for my TV. After Christmas I got a matching bookcase, so now my room has some more actual furniture.

I finished Re:CoM a while back, in about 2 weeks or so, and that was after taking four days off after my last real entry. 100% completion in both. It was both easier and harder than the original. Plus, the new cards gotten from finishing Sora's story would have been nice to have earlier than that, or at least in linked fights (which was taken out in and replaced with theater mode).

Then, I started Eternal Poison, finally. It's as gorgeous as the videos I'd seen beforehand. Also, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FUCK I'M DOING. Seriously. There's no guide at all (not even a printed one), so I've been winging it a lot. I started with Thage's story. After getting over her Negate ability (unaffected by any magic, positive or negative), and trying to figure out how abilities work, I finally started working on the Second Strata today. And the story doesn't get any less confusing.
Favorite mercenaries (based on use): Yuri (yay light elemental magic and an extra healer) and Alexei (a very slow, but very well defended, tank)
Favorite mercenaries (based on looks): Ares (just finally recruited her, no idea how she functions), Vivian (though I have used her, and her non-elemental spells are nice)
Favorite characters: Thage, Duphaston

I managed to miss out on going back to school because the school I wanted to go to didn't receive my transcripts in time, so I have to wait until the fall semester. Thankfully, I'm already in the system, so I don't have to re-apply. On top of that, I'm going to go ahead and learn how to drive in the meantime (and get my license, finally).

Also, I'm typing all this on a new laptop. The original hard drive failed in my original one, and so I had it replaced with one I had bought for my sister's laptop, though it didn't actually need it (she needed a new motherboard, as her's wouldn't even start). So I went ahead and bought a Dell, similar to the one my sister has, but a different model number. The keyboard is a little touchy, the buttons at the top don't light until you touch them (making it hard to find the volume controls in the dark), and for the first couple days, the wireless card didn't want to cooperate with the router.
And then, on Monday, I managed to stupidly fall for a virus over MSN, so, after finally getting rid of it (and crashing my login), I had to start over as though I had just gotten it. Thankfully, the wireless card took less time to get used to the router again.

I think I say this every time, but I need new icons.

I think I've done most writing this week than I have the other two. All of it after 4pm, and then all of it within 6 hours. I think, that if I can keep this up, I'll be done before Thanksgiving, word-wise.

I haven't decided on a reward, but I'm trying to decide between either KH: CoM (cheaper and it comes out 12/2) or a new external HD (a bigger one than I have, and so I have a backup, as mine is over 4 years old and I've dropped it twice now). Either way, I get both eventually, though I think I'll put off the HD until the end of next month.

Speaking of next month (33 days until The-Day-That-Must-Not-Be-Named), the ads at work are getting bigger and bigger, and after next week, will be even worse. It looks like I'll be back to Saturday nights, which takes away both Saturday and Sunday days, it would appear. On one hand, yay not having to work days! On the other hand, that's two days condensed to one, and I wasted money on a red polo shirt and black jeans. Also, it appears I have to work both next Thursday and Friday. It was bad enough two years ago when I only had to work two hours after opening, but actually being there during the day? Hell help us all.

At least tonight I can stay up and then sleep in tomorrow morning, since I don't have to work at all and I don't have to get up to take Nathan to the bus.

I have a 12 pack of Vanilla Coke! And it's even regular Coke, not the Coke Zero!

Also have the cartoons I mentioned in the previous post. I watched Freakzoid last week. I think I'll watch Tiny Toons this week, as I don't have to work until Friday again.

Also, I think I need to invest in a new, larger external HD. I've discovered torrents, and while I can't get anything mega fast, I can get large amounts of stuff easily. o.o I just don't have the room to keep it all.

The Vanilla Coke mentioned at the top? I think I'll use it on Tuesday. Might as well play a non-alcoholic drinking game. Better to be hopped up on caffeine than watch it "sober". xD

...There they are, a standing in the road.

I finally ordered a new battery last week, and decided to add memory to that. The battery's nice and all. It's a 12 cell, so it's twice as big, and it causes my laptop to slope on my desk, keeping the vents away from dust. It's kind of annoying on my lap, though, as I have to either lay the battery between my knees and cause stiffness, or lay it on my right knee and slant the whole thing. At least it actually keeps a charge, and it stays charged longer than the old one.

As for the memory, yay noob moment! I took out one of the 512 MBs and put in the 1 GB, except I didn't put it in right. So, my computer tried to run on only 512 MB and failed miserably. -_-; At least now it runs a lot smoother. I don't have to go all the way to 2 GB, thank god.

I wish I could say I've done other so exciting things, but that would be a complete and utter lie.

Well, I just got bored and redid my entire journal, kind of. I kept the same layout, anyway.

Also, I finally have my own computer back. ^^

Or something. o.O

On Sunday I went to bed at 4am, woke up at 7am with a fever and slight delirium, drugged myself, went back to bed, woke up five hours later sweaty, drugged myself again, and slept until 4pm. Other than a minor head cold the next day, I'm fine. ^^

Also, I still don't get mu computer back from my sister until next weekend. ;_; I don't even get to use it this weekend because she didn't come home this time.

I am wearing shorts. This reminds me that I have hairy legs and cats that like to attack my feet.

Also:

Wait, what? )

I live in a basement!

No windows to the outside. It is as dark in here at 10am as it is at 10pm. The only way I know the time of day is to look at a clock (or go upstairs/outside, but who is that crazy?). Nice for sleeping in in the morning.

I actually had Internet last night, but I didn't feel like updating, because I had so much to catch up on first. -_-; There's not much to say, other than that I have to go upstairs to go to the bathroom/eat real food. I want to get a mini-fridge down here. And then knock out the storage room past the laundry room and install a bathroom.

At least I'm all settled in here now, for now, anyway. My new TV doesn't fit into the entertainment center, so it sits on top of it. That's actually good, because then I don't have to look down so far at it, and instead I can look up a little. I now have all my movies (lol, I have so many -_- [/sarcasm]), CDs, games, and books on it.

I spent the past few days (Internet-less) getting everything unpacked and put away as best I could. At night I had my PS2, so I alternated between starting a new game in FFX and Threads of Fate. Then on Tuesday, we got cable, but I didn't watch a whole lot anyway.

Boring, I am so boring. Also, I keep wanting to use the touchpad, even though I got a mouse a month ago and am now able to use it. It's a little touchy, but I like it a hell of a lot better than the touchpad.
